/téygo/ [etym. uncertain, but cf. DJE teg-a-reg a roung uncouth, trouble-making person; cf. OED tag-and-rag of the rabble obs. →1675] n. a stylish, street-wise young man of the early 1960's: 1973 Some of the guys were Gullies while others were "Beatnicks" and "Tago"...Tagoes were supposed to be the most hip of the lot (Missick 34).
