Lucaik Islands

[probably from LUCAYA + -ic (cf. Icelandic) but cf. LUCAYONEQUE ] n., Obs. former name for the Bahamas: 1644 Lucaik Islands, so near one another, as they make those seas very rough, heady, and dangerous (William Castell, an English geographer, quoted by Durrell 1972:16).
